Basketball Recap: Morgan Park Takes a Loss

Morgan Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Whitney Young Dolphins 83-26. The Mustangs lost against the Dolphins in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 68-36 score last time.

Leading Whitney Young to victory were Destiny Jackson and Jordyn Ellis. Jackson dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Ellis went 10 for 15 on her way to 24 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Jackson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Alana Shields was another key player, putting up three points along with nine steals and eight assists.

Morgan Park's record now sits at 5-12. As for Whitney Young, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Morgan Park has already played their next game (against Hancock), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Whitney Young does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
