Marcus came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.2 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 49-45 W against the Pieper Warriors.

Pieper lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kayla James, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Okoye, who had eight points and seven boards.

Marcus' victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Pieper, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Marcus wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 75-52 win against O'Connor on the 21st. As for Pieper, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-39 loss against Lipan on the 21st.
