Volleyball Game Preview: Rangely Panthers vs. De Beque Dragons

Rangely is a perfect 10-0 against De Beque since October of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Panthers will look to defend their home court against the Dragons at 1:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Saturday, Rangely came up short against Cedaredge and fell 3-1. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Rangely ultimately came up short, they really made Cedaredge work, particularly in the third set. The final score came out to 25-16, 18-25, 26-24, 25-15.

Despite the loss, Rangely saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Isabella Cox had nine digs and three aces. Cox has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last six times she's played.

Meanwhile, De Beque lost 3-0 to Caprock Academy on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Dragons in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost eight in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-11, 25-15.

Rangely's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for De Beque, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-20.

Rangely beat De Beque 2-0 when the teams last played back in August. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
