Softball Recap: Providence School Stallions vs. Creekside Knights

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Providence School's offense. Their rough 7-0 loss to the Creekside Knights on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. While getting shut out isn't ideal, Providence School has not been shut out since back in March.

Sophia Prather spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on seven hits.

On Creekside's side, they got a big performance out of Presley Brinkley, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Riley Waters was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4.

Providence School now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Creekside, their victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence School will face off against Nease at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nease is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season. As for Creekside, they will head out on the road to challenge Bartram Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
