Baseball Recap: Jay's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Jay didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Fairland Owls with a sharp 10-2 victory on Thursday. That eight run margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Leland Johnson was a standout: he scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Cody Whitlock also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Fairland, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Jay will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Oologah at 5:00 p.m. on March 24th. Jay's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Oologah's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Fairland, they will face off against Vinita at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
