Volleyball Recap: Papillion-LaVista Comes Up Short

Papillion-LaVista was the 2-0 winner over Elkhorn North when they last played one another back in August of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Monarchs fell 2-0 to the Wolves on Saturday. The Monarchs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Faith Wiechman paced Papillion-LaVista's offense, picking up eight kills. Wiechman got some help from Drew Schnabel and her nine assists. Wiechman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Elkhorn North's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reese Wallraff, who had seven digs and one assist.

Papillion-LaVista's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Elkhorn North, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 23-6.

Papillion-LaVista wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Fremont on the 18th. As for Elkhorn North, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Pius X on the 18th.
