Softball Recap: Dundalk Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lansdowne last Tuesday, Dundalk came back down to earth. The Owls lost 12-5 to the Catonsville Comets on Tuesday. The Owls' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Kenisha Gelpi and Justice Smith stepped up to the plate in a big way. Gelpi scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Smith went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Smith has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Hayden Wiatrowski also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Dundalk's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Catonsville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Coincidentally, Dundalk and Catonsville will both be playing Western Tech & Environmental Science the next time they take the field. The Comets will host the Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Owls will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
