Recap: Carolina M Mustangs vs. Faith Christian Eagles
The Carolina M Mustangs were the 42-35 winner over the Faith Christian Eagles when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Carolina M was the victim of a rough 56-31 defeat at the hands of Faith Christian on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Carolina M can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while Faith Christian is ranked 90th).
Carolina M's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Abigail Faison, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds. Faison scored a full 35.5% of Carolina M's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliana Mah, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Carolina M and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Faith Christian, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carolina M will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cristo Rey Research Triangle at 5:00 p.m. on December 15th. As for Faith Christian, they will be playing at home against Tabernacle Christian at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Tabernacle Christian will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
