Softball Recap: Homer Takes Down Ranked Redington

Homer faced Redington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mariners had just enough and edged out the Huskies 5-4. The Mariners haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Jessica Plumlee, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Amakah Stineff, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Homer's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Redington, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Homer is set to face off against their familiar foe Kenai Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Redington will square off against rival Houston at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
