Softball Recap: Markesan Hornets vs. Westfield Area Pioneers
Markesan had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 4-9 to make it five. They fell just short of the Westfield Area Pioneers by a score of 14-13. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pioneers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.
Kaylee Heberer stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Karlie Olson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs.
