Softball Recap: Chesapeake Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Chesapeake's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. They didn't even let the Broadneck Bruins on the board, marking the Cougars' second-straight 10-0 shutout. Considering the Cougars have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Chesapeake is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Broadneck, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chesapeake will take on Queen Anne's County at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Broadneck, they will face off against Glen Burnie at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
