Volleyball Recap: Belmont Cardinals vs. Kossuth Aggies
Belmont had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Kossuth Aggies 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Cardinals as they're now sitting on five straight.
Belmont took Kossuth into a fifth set where they got it done with a 12-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-23, 25-19, 11-25, 15-3.
Leading Belmont to victory were Jacey Deaton and Bella Smith. Deaton had eight digs and two aces, while Smith had five digs.
They weren't the only good server: Belmont was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in three consecutive contests.
