Preview: Pinewood vs. Menlo School
Pinewood has been on the road for five straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Menlo School Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pinewood's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
Pinewood fell victim to King's Academy's stalwart defense on Wednesday and couldn't make it onto the board. They fell 2-0 to the Knights. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pinewood in their matchups with King's Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Menlo School put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 6-1 margin over Crystal Springs Uplands. Andre Gonzalez lombera was a massive factor in the win, as he booted in three goals all by himself.
Pinewood dropped their record down to 0-8-1 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only scored two goals over those five matchups. As for Menlo School, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3-3 record this season.
Pinewood might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Menlo School in their previous meeting back in January. Will Pinewood have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more soccer content.
