Basketball Recap: Asheville Falls Short of Davie in the Playoffs

Asheville and Davie squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Asheville had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Davie War Eagles and fell 81-39. The Cougars were down 63-31 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Bailey Aderhold went supernova for Davie, going 7-for-8 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and three steals. What's more, Aderhold also posted an 88% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Madison Daugherty, who shot 71% from the field on her way to 14 points.

Asheville now has a losing record of 13-14. As for Davie, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

Asheville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Davie, they have already played their next match, a 64-58 loss against South Mecklenburg on the 28th.
