Baseball Recap: Jasper Drops Season-High Score on Drexel

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jasper). They were the clear victors by a 20-1 margin over the Drexel Bobcats on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Treyton Ritchhart made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Jasper got a massive performance out of Rustin Selvey, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave Selvey a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brady Sisseck, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Jasper always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Jasper's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Drexel, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jasper will welcome Southwest at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Drexel, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Nevada at 4:30 p.m.
