Bishop McGuinness had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Western Guilford Hornets. For the Villains, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Hornets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

While Bishop McGuinness won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-18, 25-20.

Sumanth Miah was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 17 digs and two aces.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop McGuinness will face off against Christ the King at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Western Guilford, they will venture away from home to take on Southern Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
