Basketball Recap: Swain County Comes Up Short

Swain County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 68-48 to the Hiwassee Dam Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Maroon Devils of the 56-27 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Swain County's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Hiwassee Dam, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Swain County will welcome Franklin at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hiwassee Dam, they will face off against Nantahala at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles will be up against the Hawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 55.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
