Baseball Recap: Vandalia Christian Has No Trouble Against Tabernacle Christian

Vandalia Christian's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Tabernacle Christian Conquerors 15-3. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Vikings this season.

Chase Brown and Hamilton Stone were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Brown struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Stone tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Brown a new career-high. At the plate, Brown scored a run while going 1-for-4, while Stone got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Stone is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, Vandalia Christian let Nate Collins and Cole Boody run wild. Collins scored three runs and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-4, while Boody went 1-for-2 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Izzy Settle, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Vandalia Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Tabernacle Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Vandalia Christian will head out to square off against Cramerton Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Vandalia Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season. As for Tabernacle Christian, they will square off against Union Grove Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Union Grove Christian knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Tabernacle Christian likes a good challenge.
