Recap: Lithonia Bulldogs vs. Decatur Bulldogs
The Lithonia Bulldogs fell victim to the Decatur Bulldogs''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Bulldogs 48-0. Lithonia's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it five in a row.
Decatur's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jersharius Lawrence, who rushed for 52 yards and two touchdowns. Decatur also got a significant boost from Tim Britt, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 89 yards.
Lithonia's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-1 Arabia Mountain and 6-3 Douglass (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.9% over those games). As for Decatur, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lithonia will take on Tucker at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tucker is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Decatur, they will play host again and welcome Chamblee, where Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
