Wellsville and Bolivar-Richburg are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Lions will square off against the Wolverines at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wellsville will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Monday, Wellsville made easy work of Hornell and carried off a 12-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Genesee Valley hit Bolivar-Richburg with a eight-run sixth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolverines lost 12-2 to the Jaguars. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wolverines have suffered since May 8, 2024.

Bolivar-Richburg saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Lipyance, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Wellsville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Bolivar-Richburg, they moved to 10-5 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Everything went Wellsville's way against Bolivar-Richburg in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Wellsville made off with a 13-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
