Baseball Recap: Raymond Central Mustangs vs. Central City/Centura Kernels
Raymond Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 16-5 to the Central City/Centura Kernels. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their loss to the Kernels from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.
Raymond Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tucker Matulka, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Mackson Smith also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Raymond Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Central City/Centura, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

Meanwhile, Central City/Centura will face off against rival Fort Calhoun at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Kernels 2.2, the Pioneers 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
