Volleyball Game Preview: Carlyle Indians/Lady Indians vs. Central A & M Raiders

The Carlyle Indians/Lady Indians will take on the Central A & M Raiders in a tournament on Saturday. Carlyle will be strutting in after a win while Central A & M will be coming in after a loss.

Chester came into Thursday's contest looking for another win against Carlyle, but Caybri Pollmann wouldn't allow it. The Indians/Lady Indians came out on top in a nail-biter against the Yellowjackets on Thursday, sneaking past 2-1 for which the team can thank Pollmann, who had 15 assists and three digs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 12.1 assists per game.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Carlyle who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 17-25, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Central A & M came up short against St. Teresa on Thursday and fell 2-0.

Central A & M was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-23.

Central A & M has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Carlyle, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8.

Carlyle beat Central A & M 2-0 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Will the Indians/Lady Indians repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
