Soccer Game Preview: Piedmont vs. Berkeley

Piedmont is 1-8-1 against Berkeley since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Piedmont Highlanders will host the Berkeley Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m.

Piedmont is headed into Friday's following a draw, the team's first since December 20. Neither they nor San Leandro could gain the upper hand on Wednesday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Piedmont's goal came courtesy of Harper Mand, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Berkeley). Their defense stepped up to hand Arroyo a 7-0 shutout on Wednesday. The victory was nothing new for the Yellowjackets as they're now sitting on three straight.

Berkeley is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those eight matches. Piedmont's draw makes their record 2-4-4 this season.
