Volleyball Recap: Chicopee Comp Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with West Springfield

Chicopee Comp faced West Springfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Colts came up short against the Terriers, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Colts in their meetings with the Terriers: they've now lost eight in a row.

While Chicopee Comp was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-22, 25-19.

Chicopee Comp's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for West Springfield, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

The Colts are on a six-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Bombers a five-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. Meanwhile, West Springfield is set to challenge their familiar foe Minnechaug Regional at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
