League recap: New Bremen stuns Fort Recovery in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to New Bremen, who took down 315th ranked Fort Recovery, 31-28.

Austin Bruns and Mitch Schoenherr provided fans with a highlight when they connected against St. Henry. The connection was good for 57 yards, the longest such play in Midwest Athletic this season.

Coldwater's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Bruns threw for 195 and two touchdowns and Schoenherr had 57 yards receiving. On the ground Bruns chipped in 65 yards. Josh Huber helped Coldwater's passing attack out by catching three balls for 37 yards.

Coldwater's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cavaliers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Bruns has thrown for 1301 yards and 17 touchdowns this season, while Caleb Siefring has 18 catches for 390 yards. Bruns also leads the league in rushing with 326 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Marion Local takes on the Redskins. The Flyers are in second place, while St. Henry is in fourth place.

The Cavaliers extended the longest winning streak in Midwest Athletic this week by beating Jeff Starkey's team, 41-7. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
