Basketball Game Preview: La Jolla Vikings vs. Point Loma Pointers

Having just played yesterday, the La Jolla Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Point Loma Pointers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

La Jolla is headed into Friday's match hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They were beaten by Mission Bay 72-27 on Thursday. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-11.

Meanwhile, Point Loma lost to Canyon Hills on the road by a 66-51 margin on Tuesday.

La Jolla will need focus on slowing down Na'Sean Hardy, one of several Point Loma players who made an impact when they last played. He went 6 for 10 en route to 17 points and five boards. Jax Marple was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points.

La Jolla's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Point Loma, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-6 record this season.

La Jolla couldn't quite finish off Point Loma in their previous meeting back in January and fell 49-47. Can La Jolla avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
