Volleyball Recap: McGavock Takes a Loss

McGavock was the 3-0 winner over Cane Ridge when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Raiders fell just short of the Ravens by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. While the Raiders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Ravens 25-20 in the first set.

McGavock started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 23-25, 25-17, 25-21, 15-13.

Zoie Saine paced McGavock's offense, picking up 11 kills. Saine got some help from Ali Haskins-Morgan and her 21 assists. Cailyn Ekberg controlled things from the service line, finishing with nine aces.

McGavock's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. McGavock is set to face off against their familiar foe Glencliff at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cane Ridge will challenge rival Overton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
