Basketball Recap: Freeman Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Freeman entered their tilt with Hanson on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Hanson Beavers with a sharp 76-55 win. The Flyers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 21 points or more this season.

Leading Freeman to victory were Tate Sorensen and David Walter. Sorensen almost dropped a double-double with 28 points and nine rebounds, while Walter almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, Sorensen is now averaging an impressive 15.7 points per game. Tayden Kerrigan was another key player, putting up nine points and five boards.

Freeman was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Freeman's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points over those games. As for Hanson, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Looking ahead, Freeman will venture away from home to take on Corsica/Stickney at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Freeman knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully Corsica/Stickney likes a good challenge. As for Hanson, they will challenge Wessington Springs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
