Softball Game Preview: Neches Tigers vs. Apple Springs Eagles

The Neches Tigers will square off against the Apple Springs Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neches will be strutting in after a victory while Apple Springs will be coming in after a loss.

Neches played in-conference for the first time last Friday and they got just the result they were looking for. They came out on top against Wells by a score of 13-9. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Meanwhile, Apple Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 18-6 to Wells.

Apple Springs saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Faith Smith, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another was Sophie Oldham, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Apple Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. This was only their first loss (out of six games) when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Apple Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
