Softball Recap: Aberdeen Central Comes Up Short

Aberdeen Central had lost 13 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 1-12 to make it 14. They came up short against the Roosevelt Rough Riders, falling 11-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Eagles of the 15-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Roosevelt, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-9. They not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since May 18, 2024 (when they won 15-0).

For Roosevelt's part, the team relied heavily on Raelyn Sieler, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was Sieler's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Vanessa Kiggins, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Aberdeen Central will challenge rival O'Gorman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Roosevelt is set to take on their familiar foe Brookings at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
