After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last four matchups, Newnan finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McIntosh Chiefs. The Cougars' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Newnan's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-4. As for McIntosh, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.

Looking ahead, Newnan will welcome Banneker at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Newnan is facing Banneker at the right time seeing as Banneker is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for McIntosh, they will head out to challenge Pike County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pike County will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something McIntosh surely won't give up without a fight.
