Soccer Recap: Alice Comes Up Short

Alice was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Gregory-Portland Wildcats, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 back in January.

Alice's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Gregory-Portland, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 18-2.

Coming up, Alice will face off against King at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Alice has given up an average of 7.8 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Gregory-Portland, they will challenge Flour Bluff at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Flour Bluff is on a five-game streak of home wins, Gregory-Portland an eight-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the pitch.
