Softball Game Preview: Clay Eagles vs. Springfield Blue Devils

The Clay Eagles will take on the Springfield Blue Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Clay will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Clay had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Napoleon on Wednesday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Wildcats.

Springfield came out on top against Elmwood on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Blue Devils walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Royals.

Clay's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Springfield, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Clay beat Springfield 9-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
