Basketball Recap: Nash Beshears Key Part of a Team Effort in Marauders Win

Maclay's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They blew past the Seabreeze Sandcrabs 61-39. The Marauders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Sandcrabs, too.

Maclay got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nash Beshears out in front who posted 16 points. That's the most points Beshears has posted since back in January. Andrew Lunt was another key player, putting up 19 points.

Despite the loss, Seabreeze saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jordan Anthony went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points.

Maclay's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Seabreeze, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maclay will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Leon at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Seabreeze, they will challenge Hagerty at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
