            For the second straight game, Maiden will face off against Newton-Conover. The Blue Devils will face off against the Red Devils at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Maiden has won six straight at home, while Newton-Conover won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
Maiden is probably headed into the  contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Newton-Conover just ended the team's  six-game winning streak  on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of  2-0. The  matchup marked the first time this season in which the Blue Devils were not able to get on the board.
 Kam Fulbright was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits over six innings pitched. What's more,  he gave up only two  walks, the fewest he's  had since back in March.
 At the plate, Maiden saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Zane Williams, who  went 1-for-3 with one  double.
 Newton-Conover's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Maiden, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.
