The Highland Scots will take on the Frontier Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last four games Highland has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Highland fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Independence on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 5-4. The Scots' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Lilliana Garcia spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Madelyn Gonzalez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Nevaeh Rodriquez was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Frontier, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over Garces Memorial on Friday.
Taylor Sloss made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Sloss was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Sloss wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Freeborn, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another was Ryleigh Garcia, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
Frontier is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Highland, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6-2.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Highland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .326. However, it's not like Frontier struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Highland might still be hurting after the 9-1 loss they got from Frontier in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can the Scots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
