Softball Game Preview: Benton Panthers vs. Greenbrier Panthers

Benton is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will venture away from home to challenge Greenbrier at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Benton is headed out to face Greenbrier after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Benton put the hurt on Conway with a sharp 13-3 win on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Greenbrier earned a 7-2 win over Central Arkansas Christian on Friday.

Ellison Miller was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Rylee Steelman, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Greenbrier was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Arkansas Christian only posted a batting average of .333.

Benton couldn't quite get it done against Greenbrier in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 8-5. Can Benton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
