Paul VI was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping Triton. The Eagles came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 38 last week.
Moorestown took down Woodrow Wilson 47-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Paul VI's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Alec Vignola threw for 236 and two touchdowns and Zach Grant had 124 yards receiving. On the ground Dior Hightower chipped in 94 yards. Christian Diantonio helped Paul VI's passing attack out by catching two balls for 37 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Vignola and Hightower John Doherty's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Vignola leads the league in passing with 1159 yards, while Hightower has rushed for 555 yards this season. The Quakers' Sidney Ruffin leads the league in receiving yards with 400 on 19 catches.
A big matchup in West Jersey - Constitution this week will be when Moorestown takes on the Eagles. At the moment, Russ Horton's team is in fourth, while Paul VI is in second.
There should be lots of points scored when the Quakers and the Eagles face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Moorestown comes in having scored 144 this season, while Paul VI has scored 175. The Quakers scored 47 points last week as they beat the Tigers.
Cherry Hill West and Bishop Eustace Prep played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Cherry Hill West eventually emerging with a 20-14 victory.
