Basketball Recap: Wellsville-Middletown Drops Highest Score of Season Against Norborne

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wellsville-Middletown). They took down the Norborne Pirates 53-35 on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak.

Norborne lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sarah Mansur, who posted nine points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Avi Leabo, who put up 13 points and seven boards.

Wellsville-Middletown's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-12. As for Norborne, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Wellsville-Middletown has already played their next contest, a 60-30 defeat against Higbee on the 1st. As for Norborne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 43-31 victory against Bevier on the 31st.
