Soccer Game Preview: Cholla vs. Douglas

Cholla is 0-5 against Douglas since December of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Cholla Chargers will take on the Douglas Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m.

Cholla is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against Rio Rico, falling 4-0.

Meanwhile, Douglas had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.4 goals) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Mustangs a 2-0 shutout. The Bulldogs' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matchups.

Douglas' win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-1. As for Cholla, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Cholla might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from Douglas in their previous meeting back in December of 2017. Can Cholla avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
