Baseball Recap: Machias Comes Up Short

Machias managed to slip by Bangor Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bulldogs lost 9-3 to the Patriots on Friday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Machias' loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 6-5. As for Bangor Christian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Machias is set to take on their familiar foe Jonesport-Beals at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Bangor Christian will square off against rival Stearns at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
