Football Recap: Grace Community Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Grace Community duked it out with Hyde Park on Friday. The Cougars took a 28-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Cougars' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Hyde Park's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Crawford Moffitt led the charge by throwing for 182 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes, while also rushing for 31 yards and one score. The dominant performance also gave Moffitt a new career-high in passer rating (144.7). Hudson Hart was in the mix too, providing Hyde Park with two TDs.

Grace Community's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Hyde Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Meanwhile, Hyde Park is set to face off against their familiar foe Brentwood Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Moffitt and Brayden Jennings.
