Basketball Recap: San Tan Foothills Comes Up Short

San Tan Foothills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 64-48 to the Benjamin Franklin Chargers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sabercats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-41 on January 10th.

Despite the loss, San Tan Foothills still got an impressive performance from Cienna Witcher, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. With that strong performance, Witcher is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game.

Benjamin Franklin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacey Blair, who posted 25 points. The game was Blair's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Falls, who had 16 points.

San Tan Foothills' loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Benjamin Franklin, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.

San Tan Foothills will look to defend their home court on Friday against Vista Grande at 5:30 p.m. San Tan Foothills is facing Vista Grande at the right time seeing as Vista Grande is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Benjamin Franklin, they will welcome Payson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Payson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.7 points per game this season.
