Baseball Recap: Corinth Holders Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Corinth Holders walked away with it. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Wake Forest Cougars a 5-0 shutout on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Pirates as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Corinth Holders pushed their record up to 24-3 with the victory, which was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 runs on average over those games. As for Wake Forest, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-7.

Looking ahead, Corinth Holders is taking a road trip to take on D.H. Conley at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their 24th straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. Wake Forest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
