Softball Recap: Mainland Regional Mustangs vs. St. Joseph Wildcats

Mainland Regional extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-12 in the process. They came up short against the St. Joseph Wildcats, falling 12-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, with their most recent defeat being a 11-0 loss last Tuesday.

As for St. Joseph, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Considering they have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For St. Joseph's part, Elaina Portalatin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Portalatin has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
