Baseball Recap: Clinton Gets the Win

Clinton never let their opponents score on Friday. They came out on top against the Tahanto Regional Stags by a score of 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Gaels in their matchups with the Stags: they've now won four in a row.

Braydan Huban looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Josh Nelson, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.

Clinton's record now sits at 9-3. As for Tahanto Regional, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clinton will venture away from home to face off against Ayer Shirley at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Gaels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Tahanto Regional, they are taking a road trip to square off against Murdock at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.08 runs per game on average), something the Stags will no doubt try to take advantage of.
