Softball Recap: Atchison Phoenix vs. Harmon Hawks
Atchison can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 19-2 margin over the Harmon Hawks. The high-scoring effort was just what Atchison needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.
Makenzie Weedon-Jacobs made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Weedon-Jacobs was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Presley Simpson and Nae'Onna Sanders did most of the damage at the plate: Simpson went 3-for-3 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Sanders scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
