Preview: Sunset Bison vs. Wilson Wildcats
Sunset is 0-6 against Wilson since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Sunset Bison will be home for the holidays to greet the Wilson Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Wilson took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Sunset, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Sunset was able to grind out a solid win over Adamson, taking the game 62-54. The win was just what Sunset needed coming off of a 94-30 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Wilson's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 58-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Oak Cliff. Wilson has not had much luck with South Oak Cliff recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Wilson's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Michael Best, who scored 18 points along with three steals, and Wglen Rodriguez who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Rodriguez continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Evan Deatherage, who scored six points.
Sunset's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Wilson, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Sunset might still be hurting after the 58-36 loss they got from Wilson in their previous matchup back in February. Can Sunset avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
