Preview: Lincoln Wolves vs. Ozark Hillbillies

The Lincoln Wolves will square off against the Ozark Hillbillies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

With a playoff game on the line, Lincoln rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 39-28 win over Heber Springs. The win was just what Lincoln needed coming off of a 54-0 defeat in their prior contest.

Kale Jones went supernova for Lincoln, rushing for 154 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for two yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Jace Birkes also helped out with an impressive 81 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Ozark had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They strolled past Lamar with points to spare, taking the game 35-20.

Koby Wilbanks continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 191 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, and also throwing for 104 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Wilbanks hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games.

Their wins bumped Lincoln to 8-3 and Ozark to 9-2.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Lincoln has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 187.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Ozark struggles in that department as they've been even better at 254.9 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches. Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other football content.

Lincoln was taken down by Ozark 44-7 in their previous meeting back in October. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Ozark's Wilbanks, who rushed for 209 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries. Now that Lincoln knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
