Recap: Gilmour Academy Lancers vs. Hawken Hawks
The Gilmour Academy Lancers entered their tilt with the Hawken Hawks with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Gilmour Academy blew past Hawken 59-17 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Gilmour Academy has managed all season.
Hawken's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sarah Liu, who scored eight points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Julia Scales, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Gilmour Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Hawken, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilmour Academy will take on Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 508th, while Gilmour Academy is ranked 31st). As for Hawken, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Cleveland Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th.
